Micro 3D Printing (FDM) on the tip of the tweezers

Today we have a very unusual 3D printing – micro 3D printing. And it will be produced not on a photopolymer, that is, an SLA printer, but on a regular FDM. What you need for this and how you can repeat the same 3D printing, I will tell you in this article. Let’s get down to printing.

For microprinting, I stocked with a 0.15mm micro nozzle from TriangleLabs. Note that even the description for these nozzles says that they are experimental. The hole is almost invisible, although it is.

also bought a sapphire die with a diameter of 0.1 mm. But about it already in the next article. She really needs a different approach.

The first is to replace the nozzles. For this, not so many tools are needed: a simple key, I have it at 17, preferably with thin jaws, so as not to damage the heating element and not close it;

The print time is quite interesting, just 15 minutes. This is good, you don’t have to sit for days and wait until the sample is printed. We clicked and we start printing. The settings in the first print left the same as I usually print with a 0.4 nozzle.

 I used ABS plastic from Filamentarno for printing all the details.

Honestly, when I saw this figure for the first time, my reaction was something like this: “The bird pooped.” Well, no need to be upset, we will print another model. The most boring activity is waiting for the printer to print with microprinting
