Samsung announced the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion laptops, which will replace the Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9, respectively. The company is making major changes to these devices, both in terms of hardware and appearance. In the latter case, both models are aligned with the new design that Samsung introduced earlier this year with the announcement of the Notebook 9 Pro.Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion are the first laptops of the manufacturer with QLED displays. This is the same technology that Samsung uses in its flagship TV line. Such screens are characterized by more accurate color reproduction, increased brightness (up to 600 nits), have 100% coverage of the color space sRGB and DCI-P3. Both laptops come in 13 and 15-inch versions, all equipped with the latest 10th generation Intel processors: the Galaxy Book Flex uses 10nm Ice Lake, and the Galaxy Book Ion uses 14nm Comet Lake, built on an older architecture .Another feature of the new laptops is the Wireless PowerShare touchpad, which in combination is also a full wireless charging. You can activate this mode with a key combination, and then charge the Galaxy Watch Active 2 or AirPods. You will not be able to use the trackpad at the same time, which somewhat limits the functionality of the laptop. Both Flex and Ion are certified Intel Project Athena laptops, which means they must provide up to nine hours of battery life.Changes also affected the digital pen S Pen, which comes with the Galaxy Book Flex. Now it supports Air Action (as in Galaxy Note10), which allows you to perform certain actions and control the device using “air” gestures. As for the rest of the specifications, exact configurations have not yet been announced. Laptops will be equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM and NVMe-drives up to 1 TB. It is also known that 15-inch models will receive a discrete entry-level NVIDIA MX250 graphics card. Nothing has been said about prices yet, although Samsung claims that they will be approximately at the level of Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9. The novelties will appear on sale at the beginning of 2020.
